FAQ

How long is each session & how many sessions will i need?

Sessions last approximately 50 minutes.  The number of sessions depends on your goals in therapy. This can be discussed in the initial session.

what will therapy be like?

The first few sessions are based around assessment. Your psychologist will have some questions to get a good understanding of your difficulties, your life experiences and your goals for therapy. This is also a good opportunity for you to assess whether your psychologist is a good fit for you. Following the assessment, you will have a collaborative discussion with your psychologist on how to move forward with treatment.

what if it isn't the right fit?

After the first few sessions if you have any concerns or just feel that the relationship was not the right fit, your psychologist or our admin team will be happy to support you in suggesting other community groups, psychologists or ways forward.

fees

Our fees range from $120 with a Provisional Psychologist and $210- $265 per session with a Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist.

Although you do not require a referral to see a psychologist, a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP (also referred to as a Medicare referral) may entitle you to 10 sessions within a calendar year at a rebate from Medicare (ranging from $93 - $136).

Please see your GP, who will assess your eligibility for the Mental Health Care Plan.

The full fee is processed in session and the Medicare rebate is paid directly into your nominated bank account.

Private health rebates are also available depending on your level of cover.
