Karla takes a compassionate and authentic approach to her work. She focuses on supporting clients where they are at and encourages self-reflection and developing the emotional and communication skills they need to build the relationships and quality of life that they want.

Background and Experience

Karla has been awarded a Masters of Clinical Psychology. She has worked with adolescents and adults across a range of settings including community mental health and hospital settings for over seven years. She facilitates individual and group therapy for inpatients and outpatients at a large Mental Health Clinic and has supported individuals experiencing chronic and complex difficulties using DBT, CBT and ACT therapies. She has worked with a number of clinical presentations, in both individual and group settings including Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Anxiety,  Bipolar Disorder, Adjustment Disorders, stress management, emotional dysregulation, self-esteem issues as Eating Disorders. She takes a collaborative approach with her clients and has positive regard for their innate resilience.

Karla is a board approved supervisor and enjoys supporting early career psychologists and registrars in their learning needs.
