LIBBY PERKINS -MASTER OF COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY

Background and Experience

Libby has completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology and has a background in nursing. Libby has experience in hospital and university counselling settings using evidenced based treatments to support her clients in their physical and mental wellbeing.

Actively tuning in and meeting her clients where they are to support them overcome their difficult experiences is Libby’s strength. She is a LGBTQIA+ affirmative and an advocate of women’s mental health. Libby oozes empathy and understanding as she has seen and experienced the human struggles that occur at every stage of life.  Libby holds an open and curious approach which leads to flexibility in thinking and movement in stuck feelings such as shame and fear.

Libby has supported tweens through to older adults with; Anxiety, Social Anxiety, OCD, trauma (PTSD & Complex Trauma), Depression and grief, chronic health conditions, domestic violence and life adjustments. She is trained in CBT, ACT and Schema Therapy. Libby facilitates group therapy at one of Australia’s largest psychiatric hospitals running OCD, trauma and DBT programs.

Libby is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturdays at our Carlton North location.
