MARTIN MITREVSKI - MASTER OF CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

Martin has been described as curious, warm, empathic, open, and respectful. Martin hopes to help individuals deepen their understanding of themselves in a non-judgemental way. To understand why we think, feel and respond the way we do. Then to identify how we want to be responding and showing up in our relationships, work and as an individual which will inform the goals for therapy.

Background and Experience

Martin is a registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar. He completed his clinical training at the University of Melbourne where he trained formally in Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy. Martin has gained extensive experience working with diverse acute and long-standing physical and mental health challenges across the lifespan. He has delivered assessment and intervention to individuals, couples, families, and groups, across private, forensic government department, and public hospital and community mental healthcare settings. Martin is dedicated to ongoing training and professional development, and continues to work in public mental healthcare with high-risk young people (aged 15-25) experiencing common and uncommon mental health difficulties, and their families.

Martin enjoys working with young and older adults seeking meaning or change in their work, life and/or relationships. He is particularly interested in helping those who experience challenges related to mood and emotion-regulation, anxiety, change and adjustment, stress, sleep, perfectionism, self- esteem and development, as well as relationships and trauma.

Martin is also committed to delivering culturally informed, trauma sensitive, and LGBTQIA+ safe care. Just as no two humans are the same, the same applies for the type of psychotherapy you can expect to receive from him. Martin flexibly draws from several other evidence-based psychotherapies to inform his practice, which include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, as well as Relational-, Attachment-, and Strengths-based therapies.

Martin is available Monday’s in our Carlton North location.
